Titan Echelon is excited to announce the addition of Janet Braun as our Chief Strategic Advisor.
Janet is a retired senior officer of CIA’s Directorate of Operations with a 37-year tenure spanning both industry and U.S. Government service, specializing in the development and deployment of airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. Braun’s work has spanned multiple war zones, to include the 1994 deployment of the first-ever “modern” UAV, ushering in the age of the Predator family of UAVs and in the post-9/11 period delivering unprecedented battlefield effects and high-impact intelligence operations across the globe.
Braun’s ultimate passion and expertise resided in CIA’s counterterrorism operations in the post 9/11 period and in 2003 she joined the Counterterrorism Center, leveraging her prior UAV experience to conduct ISR operations in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. With an unrelenting “12 September 2001” mindset and a dare to fail approach, Braun led development and integration of new aircraft and their payloads while building a highly successful inter-agency team composed of pilots, technicians, targeters, case officers, analysts, engineers, and intelligence community members. Under her leadership, her team doubled in size multiple times, reaching a several thousand workforce across the globe, and carried out hundreds of unprecedented counterterrorism operations all the while adhering to the highest ethical and legal standards. Given her 20+ year tenure in this position and the unrelenting precision of her operations, Braun and her team are credited with an outsized impact on defeating al-Qa’ida.
Her awards include a Presidential Commendation, Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, Distinguished Intelligence Medal, Meritorious Presidential Rank Award, Intelligence Medal of Merit, Meritorious Executive Award, National Intelligence Award, multiple Director’s Awards, 1996 Engineer of the Year and The United States Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award.
Braun’s career is marked by her ability to lead, innovate, and inspire high-functioning teams, resulting in groundbreaking advancements in U.S. national security operations. We are humbled to have her join the Titan Echelon team.
